Gorlech Trail

Trail Info:   Grade   Type   Distance 19 km   Time 1.5 - 3 hrs

Think big climbs and big descents with this trail. The climbs are seriously gruelling at times, particularly the initial one, and you will be wondering when you’re ever going to be riding downhill. Well not to worry, because eventually you’ll be hammering down some smooth and fast sculpted trails with all sorts of terrain to keep you on your toes. A multitude of berms, off camber corners, jumps, chutes, step-ups, table tops, you name it... the Gorlech trail has it all. The descents are relatively short and sweet though and you will be climbing again before you think you should be.

In total there are three big climbs and three full-on descents. The trail is quite physically demanding and most riders will be pretty tired on completing the route. Recommended for mountain bikers with a reasonable level of off road experience and fitness. This is a great trail if you want to practice a style of riding which is not typical of Welsh trail centres.

Finding the trail

On entering the car park just on the outskirts of the village of Abergorlech set off up the forest road at the end and follow the red way markers.
