Tarw Trail

Grade:
Distance: 20.2 km
Time: 1.5 - 3 hrs

A tough mountain bikie ride in many respects, the Tarw Trail eases the rider in with a false sense of security then the climbs begin, of which there are many. Long forest roads which wind up the mountain side take you away from the centre and into lovely scenery with views across some classic Snowdonia mountains.

The reason for the severe grading of this trail becomes apparent when you hit the descents of "Snap, Crackle and Pop" and "Pins and Needles". These demand finely tuned mountain biking skills with their twisty, rocky corners and unusual cambered terrain.

A visit to Coed-y-Brenin wouldn't be complete without riding this trail as most of its singletrack is unique and won't be experienced by riding the other trails.
